Hassan Saleem Rana (Founder & President)
Hassan Saleem Rana is a seasoned development professional and the Founder & President of Stream of Hope Welfare Society, with over 15 years of experience in Pakistan’s development and social sector. He brings extensive expertise in education, child protection, women’s empowerment, skills development, governance, research, project management, procurement, and Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E). He has successfully led research studies, baseline assessments, report writing, data collection, and impact evaluations for both nationally and internationally funded development initiatives.
Throughout his career, Hassan has served in senior leadership and management roles with organizations including Alkhidmat Pakistan, Arfa Karim, SAF, CYTE, AKFP, ITA, PPHI/SRSP, and has also undertaken research and consulting assignments with UNDP projects, IGC–LUMS, USAID Pre-STEP, DFID, and TRF. His work has consistently focused on strengthening institutions, enhancing program effectiveness, and promoting evidence-based decision-making.
In his capacity as Founder & President of Stream of Hope Welfare Society, Hassan provides strategic direction and visionary leadership to advance the organization’s mission of empowering orphaned and underprivileged children through quality education, transparency, and sustainable community development.
Why Stream of Hope?
Of all the children in Pakistan, 44% are out of school and with the help of community we strive to educate as many children as possible.
Why There’s a Need?
- Pakistan has the World’s second highest number of out-of-school children (OOSC) with an estimated 22.8 million children aged 5-16 not attending School.
- Pakistan’s Literacy rate is 60%. 40% can’t even read and write.
- Lack of Basic Schooling Facilities- Building, Furniture, Electricity, Clean Water, etc..
- Lack of Teacher’s Training Programs
